Mark 4:39 (NLT)
When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the water, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm.

DRAWING NOTES:

TIME OF DAY:
Verse 35 tells us that it was evening.

LIGHTING NOTES:
The storm clouds are starting to break up, but since it is evening, this scene is quite dark. A lantern on the mast top also throws light onto the scene below.

CHARACTERS PRESENT:
Jesus (standing at the front of the boat) has his arms raised and is shouting his rebuke of the wind and waves, which are diminishing rapidly at his command.
Andrew is at the back of the boat, with a shadow of the canopy falling over his face. He is wearing a purple/blue outer robe as per usual. In front of him is James(son of Zebedee & brother of John), with his brother John (son of Zebedee & brother of James) holding tightly on to him!
Matthew (also called Levi) is standing up & looking decidedly green from sea sickness!
There are three unnamed disciples also in the boat, as in previous scenes in this story.

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
The various disciples are looking terrified (by the storm) and amazed (by the power and authority of Jesus).

I tend to show Matthew/Levi looking green from seasickness in these boating scenes on the lake!
