Revelation 8:5 (ANIV)
Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.
TIME OF DAY:
Not specified in the account.
The censer provides the primary source of light in this scene.
The angel from the previous scene, hurling his censer to the earth.
I enjoyed drawing the angel and the fiery censer he is hurling at the earth. Notice the lightning emanating from the base of the fiery censure.
The earthquake is represented by the damaged ground, broken road, overturned vehicles, crumbling skyscrapers (on the right hand side of the scene), rubble and smoke. Notice also the burst water mains, with spray erupting from the ground.
Here’s the scene in greyscale form, which I create before I colour up a scene, to get the tone (light and shade) right.
