DRAWING NOTES:

TIME OF DAY:
Evening.

LIGHTING NOTES:
This scene is inside a house, there is general lighting coming from behind & to the right of the viewer, casting shadows behind & to the left of the figures & objects.

CHARACTERS PRESENT:
From right to left: James/Cleopas (son of Alphaeus), Doctor Luke (a gentile).

RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
This scene was specially commissioned; the customer wanted me to show the characters “hearts burning within us” from verse 32. I have made two versions of this scene, one with & one without that “heart burning” visual effect.

There are two versions of this scene:
01) (This page) Luke 24 – Walk to Emmaus – Scene 03 – Opened eyes (Version 01). This version does not have the “heart burning” effect on James & Doctor Luke.

02) (Next page) Luke 24 – Walk to Emmaus – Scene 03 – Opened eyes (Version 02). This version shows the “heart glow” of James & Doctor Luke.

This is a simple scene, showing the two disciples reclining on cushions at a low table. The resurrected Jesus has just blessed the bread & has disappeared from view.
