Google Analytics data loss: my “day of distress”?

Posted 18 Oct 2010

I read these Bible verses on 14th Oct 2010…

Psalms 59:16-17 (NLT)
But as for me, I will sing about your power.
I will shout with joy each morning because of your unfailing love.
For you have been my refuge,
a place of safety in the day of distress.

My day of distress…
My “day of distress” was when I lost the Google Analytics data! It’s funny how I can imagine God being there for the ancient Hebrew people, in their days of distress, but in our modern age, with computers, cyberspace, user profiles & such like, it is very easy to imagine that God doesn’t know about that stuff! But God invented all the technology we enjoy… & sometimes endure! God is not only the God of the ancient times, but the God of present times too. He has as much to say to me about Google Analytics & my computer, as He does about obedience, honour, & salvation.

Since loosing the data, I have engaged in typed conversations on the Google Analytics Help Forum, & received some hope-inducing advice. I have now sent an e-mail to Analytics Support itself, & remain hopeful that the data can be recovered. But if not, I just need to remember that God is still in charge & if He doesn’t think I need the data, then I’ll go with His verdict!
