RESEARCH/ADDITIONAL NOTES:
Psalm 23 is an example of a Psalm of Confidence, which expresses trust in God’s care for & leadership of his people.

This is my literal version of verse 5a, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.” King David is sitting at his table, with his eyes closed, knife & folk in hand, with an array of enemies standing around him, brandishing swords, spears, etc. David is unworried, as he is trusting I the Lord to save him!
