Matthew 2:9-10 (NLT)
9 After this interview [with King Herod] the wise men went their way. Once again the star appeared to them, guiding them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. 10 When they saw the star, they were filled with joy!
TIME OF DAY:
Light from the bright guiding star illuminates this scene. Cool shadows are cast onto the sand, with a white starry highlight on the edges of the figures & camels.
3 wise men (in blue, red & green)
Camels & some luggage bearers.
Note the star over Bethlehem that guided the wise men to the Messiah.
This is my latest wise men & star cartoon, which has a lot more detail in the costumes & saddles of the camels, etc than the previous, much earlier, version.
The wise men robes & colours are from taken the ‘Matthew 02 – The Nativity – Scene 07 – King Herod & the wise men’ cartoon, to maintain design continuity.
Bethlehem stands at an elevation of about 2,543 ft (775 meters) above sea level, 98 ft (30 meters) higher than nearby Jerusalem. Bethlehem is situated on the southern portion in the Judean Mountains.
The city is located 45 miles (73 kilometers) northeast of Gaza and the Mediterranean Sea, 37 miles (59 kilometers) southeast of Tel Aviv, Israel and 6.2 miles (10 kilometers) south of Jerusalem.
In the center of Bethlehem is its old city. The old city consists of eight quarters, laid out in a mosaic style, forming the area around the Manger Square. Bethlehem has a Mediterranean climate, with hot and dry summers and cold winters. (Source: Wikipedia)
