New Christmas designs

Posted 04 Oct 2010

I’m working on Christmas card designs at the moment. Just finished a re-vamp of my “Luke 02 – Manger” cartoon. The new one is called “Luke 02 – Stable & animals.” You’ll notice that I have added a lot more detail than I did in the original drawing. That’s the current direction of my cartooning – I am adding more & more things to see in them! I wanted there to be more animals to peak viewing interest. Incidentally, according to my Flickr site statistics, “Luke 02 – Manger” is my no.1 cartoon, in terms of total viewings, & has been for some time. I wonder if I can conclude that viewers want to see Nativity scenes more than anything else? Or is it that the strong blue & yellow colour contrasts make this particular design stand out on the page? I have used similar strong contrasts in the new design, so it will be interesting to track viewer reaction to it. I wonder if the new design will be more or less popular than the original… I’ll let you know when I know!

It would be great for people to comment on these 2 designs – which one they find most appealing. Perhaps I can evaluate viewer preferences that way – & bring you more of what you like?! Why not e-mail me & let me know you think?

Here are the 2 design (new above old), for you to compare…
